Julaporn Buakaow: The Mirror Wall

The Mirror Wall is a street-art project in Weimar, Germany by Thai artist Julaporn Buakaow. Her work often deals with personal identity and behavior within urban settings and as so many she encountered hate and attacks by neo-nazis.She received help from police but less from the residents and this lack of interest in other people´s problems might be the driving force behind The Mirror Wall.
Her project mirrors back the behaviors of these people through stencils--on sticker paper and painted directly on walls--that show them in physical or psychological isolation: walking, waiting, queueing, but always with their faces obscured or backs turned.
