Agnès b. collection.
Hans Bellmer Céphalopode 1900, 1939/40, Gouache, brown ink, watercolour and pencil on paper , fixed on masonite, 49.5 x 46.3cm, Private collection, Switzerland
Taking the title of Klossowski’s book Nietzsche et le Cercle Vicieux as its reference, this small gathering of art works, installed like a cabinet of curiosities, explores the overlapping themes in the work of Klossowski and Bellmer. It revolves around eroticism, the Marquis De Sade and Friedrich Nietzsche, while exploring a post-war Surrealist legacy.
It features drawings, photos, etchings, books and manuscripts by artists including Balthus, Jean Benoit, Jacques-André Boiffard, Brassai, Claude Cahun, Marcel Duchamp, Leonor Fini, Françoise Janicot, Marcel Jean, Michel Journiac, Jean-Jacques Lebel, Henri Maccheroni, Dora Maar, André Masson, Roberto Matta, Pierre Molinier, Man Ray, Toyen, Unica Zurn and others.
