Pomak7 of the highly recommended nozap blog points to the remarkable video work of Adam Mufti, a filmmaker based in London whose elegant approach and continuing working relationship with Nick Knight has enabled many film collaborations with key image-making figures, including John Galliano, Brad Pitt,Björk and Grace Jones, just to name a few. You can find a lot of brilliant clips on his homepage and it´s worth to see them all.
For now I´ll pick one of his projects, 'Experiments in Advertising - The Films of Erwin Blumenfeld'3 films recontextualising the unseen film archive of the late Erwin Blumenfeld; one of the most influential fashion photographers of all time. This, a sister project to the restoration of Guy Bourdin's unseen film archive, which was central to the 2003 Bourdin retrospective, offers a glimpse on an unseen part of Blumenfeld´s work who is mostly known for his fashion photography, working for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, and also for artistic nude photography.
