The Unconscious Art of Demolition • revisited

About 5 month ago I wrote a note about Medianeras, the name given in Barcelona to the walls still standing after an adjacent house has fallen apart or has been destroyed. The walls remain as strange urban patchworks and reveal snippets of the history and intimacy of the defunct buildings. Since then two flickr sets dedicated to the art of demolition and medianeras have grown to huge collections of disturbingly beautiful Murals.

kudos to Xenmate (who shot the last pic shown here) for bringing this back on the radar.
